“six am, day after christmas. i throw some clothes on in the dark. the smell of cold, car seat is freezing. the world is sleeping i am, numb.”
this is one of the only songs i feel is justified in being one of an artist’s most popular.
i am so excited to see him with the oklahoma city philharmonic thursday night, oh my goodness. and sidenote, one of my favorite smells is cold. i hate the feeling of it, but the smell for me is up against coffee and dnky men’s be delicious. mmm.

Jamie has found the key to my heart. No, really. I haven’t been able to locate these anywhere and they are so delicious, ugh. You don’t even know.
Today: lazy early morning with tea in bed finally reading the Strategy to Support the Disarmament of the Lord’s Resistance Army, snail mail (that’s not so snail-y considering it travelled 1,331 miles since Monday) in my mailbox, hot shower, wearing his TOMS shirt, Taco Bell, washing every smidgen of dirt from my car, going to the liquor store with my dad, dinner with the family, stopping in a cemetery on the way home for a bit…and I’m about to make myself another cup of tea, snuggle up in bed and watch 500 Days of Summer (again).
It’s the simple things.
Rage Against the Machine has claimed the prestigious No. 1 spot on the British singles chart on the last Sunday before Christmas, marking the first time in five years the winner of Simon Cowell's "X-Factor" has not won.
London, England (CNN) — Rage Against the Machine has claimed the prestigious No. 1 spot on the British singles chart on the last Sunday before Christmas, marking the first time in five years the winner of Simon Cowell’s “X-Factor” has not won.
Joe McElderry’s “The Climb” came in second, beaten by a huge online swell of support for “Killing in the Name,” backed by a Facebook group with nearly 1 million members.
It was the first time a group had ever won the top slot based on downloads alone, BBC’s “The Chart Show” said.
Tracy Morter, one of the founders of the Facebook group backing Rage, said her response was “shock, really.”
“You don’t actually think it’s going to happen, and we just want to make sure Joe knows it wasn’t personal against him and hope he has a wonderful Christmas,” she said.
The Facebook group also raised about 63,000 pounds ($101,829) for the homeless charity Shelter, she said. The group had “nearly a million people — we’re 3,000 off a million,” she said.
The group vowed to download “Killing in the Name” starting earlier this month to make it the No. 1 single in the country on the Sunday before Christmas.
It might seem like a frivolous contest, but hundreds of thousands of pounds — and a place in history — are at stake. A Christmas No. 1 enters the history books, exciting passion, disgust, joy and, yes, rage.
And I have learned
that even landlocked lovers yearn for the sea like navy men.
Hello, sinuses.
I see you came back just to remind me of your existence and the fact that you (as well as my tonsils) are abnormally large and sensitive. Thanks. I appreciate it.
You can leave now. Love, Abby.
I’m getting horribly nervous about the flight across the Atlantic. Not cowering out of it or dreading the trip or anything even close to that, just nervous. I expected this, as planes are not my thing. I’m just not real comfortable with the fact that I’m somewhere where humans weren’t really designed to be, but are thanks to science (yet, I absolutely love scuba even though it also makes me nervous as well…go figure) I am. It’s not helping that the forecast calls for rain/snow Tuesday through Thursday here in Oklahoma and look rainy in Atlanta (transfer) Thursday…and we leave Thursday. Christmas Eve. It’s supposed to snow. The Oklahoman road people have absolutely no intelligence when it comes to dealing with winter weather on roads and runways. Now, don’t get any idea that I’m not leaving, not making it to London. As well as Taylor, I’ll be out on the runway de-icing it myself if measures call for it. Don’t doubt me for a second. I’m just real nervous.
I’m thinking about going for a run to try to give this head cold of mine a major kick in the ass, but my luck, it’d do the complete opposite.
Oh, the pre-trip stressors. It’s all so worth it.
Powered by Taco Bell, summer mornings and entirely too much Red Bull.
